A thank-you to all our veterans – past and present

-A A +A
By Jane Massey

For over 232 years, men and women have been defending this country. We enjoy the freedoms and rights that our forefathers fought for.

Today, our veterans are still fighting for those beliefs.

It is hard for a mother to send a son to war; it is hard for a wife to let her husband go to battle.

The anxiety of not knowing and waiting is hard for all in the family. Being separated, not being able to talk or touch a loved one is a very longing way of life.

Our veterans and their family know all about these feeling and more.

The Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy want to thank all of our veterans.

We want to remember the ones who gave their lives for this country. We want to honor the ones who came home.

We want to pay tribute and homage to those who are serving this country today.

Thank you, veterans!
