Northwestern, even after a week off, was still strong.
The No. 5 Trojans took control early and rolled to a 48-13 win over Lancaster in the Region III-AAAA opener for both squads on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.
Northwestern, 4-1, 1-0, built a 26-0 halftime lead and cruised to the 35-point win over the Bruins, who fell to 1-4 with their fourth straight loss.
The Trojans struck for a pair of scores midway the opening period to build their early lead.
