I support youth sports programs in our schools, but why do teams need so many coaches on staff when many classrooms go lacking?
My opinion probably will be unpopular with many sports enthusiasts, but I was appalled to read in the football special publication of The Lancaster News that some of the high school teams have almost as many coaches as players.
The number of team coaches are as follows: Lancaster, 14; Andrew Jackson, 17; Indian Land, 9 and Buford, 11. Four high school football teams have 51 coaches.
