Concord, N.C. – The manager of Lancaster’s Belk department store was arrested Wednesday, May 15, in Concord after someone called 911 to report he was naked and touching himself outside a public shopping center.
Chris Brien Clark, 46, of Indian Trail, N.C., was arrested at 10:16 a.m. on charges of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace, according to a Concord (N.C.) Police Department arrest report.
Police officers responded to the 7700 block of Bruton Smith Boulevard in Concord about reports of a man exposing himself outside.
When officers arrived they noticed a nude man getting dressed, while nearby was a tripod and video camera recording his actions, the report said.
Officers reviewed the video footage and noticed Clark had filmed himself in two locations at the Speedway Plaza, at the bottom of the shopping area and then again on the second level, the report said.
Police noted in the report that the plaza was in full view of a busy road and gas station, with many men, women and children near the area.
“He stated this will make him stop now from doing it any further,” the officer wrote in the report.
Also on the video, police witnessed footage of him setting up the camera in the customer service area of the Belk’s department store in Lancaster, the report said.
“While employees were dropping off money bags for the end of shift the subject removed his clothing,” an officer wrote in the report.
“The subject walks near the window area, but just out of view of the women.”
The officer said in the report that the video from inside the store shows Clark naked, touching himself and peering around the corner to see if anyone is near the window.
Clark was issued a $2,000 bond and a court date was set for July 16.
