Statism will not work anywhere, now or ever

Statism will not work anywhere, now or ever

Everywhere one looks, statism is an abject failure. Look and compare Venezuela with Chile, Cuba with Colombia, North Korea to South Korea. Just look at the United Kingdom in 1950 and compare it to itself in 1990.

The union riots in Europe were not to embrace socialism, but to find someone somewhere to somehow pay for their unsupportable benefits. They believe that the “someone” is probably on some hedonistic island somewhere with a vault of cash to pay for it all.

The hard truth is that whether it is communism or the softer form of socialism, statism does not work – not in the past, nor will it work in the future. It is simply against human nature. It rewards mediocrity and punishes merit, professing egalitarianism for all, while the elite operators of the system satisfy their desires like capitalists.

To see an example close to home, just look at California. The Democrat statists there have created a very high-tax, high-entitlement, redistributive economy and have destroyed the most richly endowed human and natural landscape in America. Beach lifeguards making $120,000 a year is absurd. They have destroyed tourism, high-tech anything, the oil and gas industry, Hollywood, Napa Valley, Silicon Valley and business in general. No one is moving to California now except illegals. The Democrat statists are pushing that state  off the edge. They really need to find that vault of cash to pay for all of the entitlements offered there.

The Democrats and some RINOs (Republicans in name only) have been driving this economy down for more than 50 years. The Republicans have not been able to change anything because they wanted to be liked by everyone when they were in power (which was not very often, I might add). The Republicans know what is right and what is wrong and it is not statism.

It is time to take the keys to the bus back from the thieves from Illinois who are running this country. Turn this bus around.
