Springdale, Buford Rec Centers host Central District tourneys

The Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission will host the SCAP Central District basketball tournaments this weekend.

Action opens Friday, March 1 with 12-under boys games at the Springdale Recreation Commission.

Play opens at 6:30 p.m. when Fairfield County plays Kershaw County. The 7:30 game has Lancaster County Even meeting Richland County.

Saturday action in the 12-under boys bracket features two games at the Buford Recreation Complex.

The 10 a.m. game pits Blythewood against East Columbia, with North Augusta meeting the Lancaster County Even vs. Richland County winner at 11:30 a.m.

Action at Springdale Rec on Saturday in the 12-U boys bracket has Lancaster County Odd meeting City of Columbia at 10 a.m. The 11:30 a.m. contest pits NYBL against the Fairfield County vs. the Kershaw County winner.

The 2 p.m. game at Springdale has the Lancaster County Odd vs. City of Columbia winner meeting the NYBL vs. Fairfield County vs. Kershaw County winner.

The 3:30 game has the Blythewood vs. East Columbia winner meeting the North Augusta vs. Lancaster County Even winner.

The championship is set for 5:30 p.m.

Two games in the girls 12-U tournament will be played at the Buford Recreation Complex.

The 1 p.m. game has Blythewood meeting East Columbia.

Kershaw County meets Lancaster County at 2:30 p.m. The championship game tips off at 4:30.

The 9-under LC girls all-stars will play Saturday, March 2 at Bluff Road Park in Columbia.

The 14-under boys all-stars play at Green View Park at 11:30 a.m.

Admission at each tournament is $3.00 per person. Concessions will be sold.
