Speedway has night of beating, banging

Before the Lancaster Motor Speedway main divisions started action, LMS held its second annual faster pastor race which included four preachers from four different churches. The preachers drove four of the super stock four cars. They made a few laps around the track and on the last lap Rev. Charles Hammond from the Unity ARP Church made a pass and charge for the win to take home the checkers.u In the super stock four, it was all Chase Wilson. As soon as the green flag dropped, Wilson jumped to the lead with Ray Adams second. Wilson had no challenges for the lead and as the laps progressed, Wilson pulled away inch by inch and cruised into victory lane. He was followed by Adams, Evan Thomas, Eric Caskey and Mike Snipes.u The young guns main was eventful. Andrew Yandle had the lead early, but he came in during a caution and did not return. Brandon Blackmon made contact with the wall and he stopped in turn four and he was brought in to end his night.Andrew Blackwood took the lead, but with Josh Langley on his bumper in second. They battled back and forth for the lead. A late caution came out when Blackwood came in with a right rear flat, but his crew got it fixed and he came back out in second.Langley had the lead, but Blackwood was giving it all he had to gain the lead, but there was not enough laps. Langley took the win ahead of Blackwood. Austin Baker, Andrew Yandle and Brandon Blackmon finished out the top five.u The super street followed and kept fans on their feet. Jeff Langley took the early lead, with Frankie McGuire second and Brandy Baker third. An early caution came out when Langley and McGuire made contact while battling for the lead, causing Langley to spin out, with McGuire going to the rear and Baker now second. Another caution occurred when Langley and Baker made contact while racing hard for the lead. Langley spun out again, sending him to the rear to give the lead to Baker.Baker and McGuire battled for the lead which brought out a third caution as they made contact causing Baker to hit the wall and he came in to end his night. McGuire took the lead with Langley second. McGuire held the lead and took the win. He was followed by Langley, Kevin Blackwell, Matt Cauthen and Rocky Price.u In the late models, Chad Paxton took the lead and he and Randy Smith battled for the top spot. An early caution came out when the legendary Mike Duvall began to slow down because he had a right rear flat tire going down. He came in and came back out, but later came back in.Paxton and Smith were still in a tussle for the lead. The Andy Blackwood team started the night looking great, but as the race progressed he had contact with a few cars causing his night to end early.Paxton began to pull away and he strolled into victory lane. He was followed by Smith, Mike Huey, David Yandle and Michael Tucker.u The pure street was on the track next and Steve Hinson took the early lead with Michael Outlaw second. Hinson had his hands full with Outlaw.Outlaw made the pass on Hinson for the lead, with Hinson now in second. Outlaw led lap after lap and took the win. He was followed by Hinson, Kevin Blackwell, Jerry Sexton and Jesse Carson rounding out the top five.u In the fastrack crate main, the start of the race had a big crash with Chris Fite getting the worst of it. Fite barrel-rolled several times on the front stretch which brought out a red flag. When the race finally got rolling, Brandy Baker took the early lead with Andy Hodges second.After several cautions, it was Baker taking the win. He was followed by Hodges, Mike Huey, Benji Knight and Timbo Mangum.u The final race of the night was the sportsman crate. Kenny Ramsey took the lead early on in the race, with Chris Bell second.Ramsey led lap after lap and cruised into victory lane with Bell second. Junior Stacks was third ahead of Barry Mathis and Joey Englebrecht.
