Lancaster Super Speedway will host its annual Hall Of Fame Race on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the half-mile oval.

The LSS 2013 Hall of Fame inductees are Wayne Webster, engine builder/team owner; Frank Thomas, track official/racer/team owner; Wayne Thrift, championship driver; and Cauthen Motors, longtime sponsor.

“We want to thank each of the individuals and their families for what they have meant to the racing community over the years at Lancaster,” said a LSS track official. “These individuals have definitely earned their place in this group, as they join Kenny Polston, Billy Causey, Carl Brownell, Ira Small, Wade Small, Tommy Mungo, David Taylor, Clyde Norwood, Doug Aldridge and Jim Mahaffey in elite company.”

The Cauthen Motors Pure Street Division and Vintage Division highlight the racing action on HOF Night this week after a rainout last Saturday.

In the Cauthen Motors Pure Street Division, it is the race that everybody at LSS has been waiting for this season.

The Pure Street Turn-A-Round Race is presented by Hall of Fame inductee Cauthen Motors.

The Pure Street Division ranks as the most popular division at LSS, with numerous drivers capable of winning any Saturday night.

Each week, the packed grandstands are standing room only when the Pure Street Division takes the dirt track.

The format for the Pure Street Turn-A-Round race has the Pure Street Division qualifying Saturday night to set the field for the first main event, a regular 12-lap event and purse.

The top eight finishers transfer to the second feature, with free pit passes for those outside the top eight.

The second main event lines up by pill draw, with the second feature eight laps and $300 to win for all eight.

The second feature will pay a $100 bonus for winning both mains.

In the Vintage Division, the race is being billed as the Starkey and Friends Vintage Memorial Race, paying $225 to win.

The Vintage Division will be running two heat races Saturday, with two free Goodyear Tires to heat race winners. The main features a 15-lap event.

Sponsors for the Vintage race are Queens Auto Repair of Ringgold, Ga., Napa Auto Parts of Waxhaw, N.C., Careco Generator Service of Fort Mill, Darrells Automotive of Fort Mill,  Indian Land Exxon, John Ellison Racing and Windhams Gourmet Pimento Cheese of Indian Land Est. 1967.

All other details are still to be announced on what other divisions are running for the Sept. 28 Hall of Fame Race.

Lancaster Super Speedway officials met Tuesday night, and all details will be posted on the track’s facebook group pages, or in the Friday edition of The Lancaster News, or on www.Dirtracefans.com, or on www.lancastersuperspeedway.com

If you missed any of the racing action from any race this season, visit Jackie Sims. He will have DVDs for sale at $10 each in the pits and grandstands.
