SPCA helps family with Christmas present

-A A +A

My family and I would like to express our appreciation to the Lancaster Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for finding us the perfect Christmas present – Jack, a 10-week old lab mix puppy. Director Diana Knight took an interest in our online application and matched us with a dog appropriate for our three boys. Foster parents Marty and Mikala Steele then drove Jack to Columbia on Christmas Eve to help him arrive at his new home on time.

Needless to say, he was an immediate hit – easily the most memorable Christmas gift our sons have ever received.

After contacting a number of animal rescue organizations, I found no group like the Lancaster SPCA that treats both rescued pets and their potential new owners with this “extra mile” attitude and effort. We thank Diana, Marty, Mikala and their coworkers, along with the local veterinarians and many others in Lancaster who support their mission.
