Katherine Anne Small and Richard Turner Walters were married Aug. 24, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster by the Rev. Charles Phillips.
The bride is the daughter of Anne Heath Small and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Edward Small, all of Lancaster. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Small Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Heath Jr. She is a 2004 graduate of Lancaster High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She is the assistant director at Lancaster County Parks and Recreation. She was presented by the Chester Debutante Assembly.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Allen Walters of Charleston. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen Walters of Lancaster and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Turner. He is a 2001 graduate of James Island High School and a 2013 graduate of Lander University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. He is a management trainee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Ms. Anne Heath Small, and her father, Philip Edward Small.
Maid of honor was Ashley Heath Small of Columbia, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Bess Crumpton of Charlotte, Elizabeth Brasington of Columbia, Mary Beth Martin of Lattimore, N.C., Lacy Hinson of Lexington, Courtney Battista of Lewes, Del., and Leigh Anne Stephens of Falls Church, Va.
Junior bridesmaid was Savannah Small of Lancaster, sister of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Ellison Wylie of Greenville, Neal Esposito of Columbia, Laina Balafas of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Jessica Easterlin of Anderson, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Ronald Walters, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Taylor Walters, John Thomas Walters, both brothers of the groom, Jason Wiggins, Jonathan Chewning, Ian O’Shea, MIkey Stripling and David Tezza, all of Charleston.
Ushers were Preston Simpson of Charlotte, Drew Mobley of Columbia, Andy Cook of Indian Land, Lane Small of Lexington, Jake Tomlinson of Irmo and James Millar of Charleston.
Register attendant was Mary Beth Hileman of Lancaster.
Program attendants were Cameron Rikard, cousin of the bride, and Kathryn Hicks, cousin of the groom, both of Lexington.
Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Abbott, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mobley and Dr. and Mrs. Dexter Lee Cook, all of Lancaster.
Scripture reader was Amy McCraw of Columiba.
Music was provided by organist Margaret Monroe of Lancaster, soloists Cherie Corley and Jeffrey Stilwell, both of Lexington, and musician Doug McClellan of Lancaster.
The bride wore a slim, A-line Allure gown with soft, romantic details. The sweetheart, strapless bodice had ruched organza and a satin band with Swarovski crystals defining the natural waistline. She wore a chapel-length veil and carried a hand-tied bouquet of fuchsia Austin Garden roses with majestic English spray roses.
A reception was held at the Fairway Room at Lancaster Golf Club.
The couple lives in Rock Hill.
