Amy Michelle Skinner and Jonathan David Bowman were married at 1 p.m. Aug. 17, 2013, at St. Mary’s Chapel in Charlotte by the Rev. M. Scott Davis.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wick Skinner of Fairhope, Ala. She is the granddaughter of Anna Lindsay and the late Malcolm Lindsay and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wickliffe Skinner Jr. She is a graduate of Campbell University and received a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. David Bowman of Stokesdale, N.C., formerly of Lancaster. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H. Glenn Hunter of High Point, N.C., formerly of Lancaster, and of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Bowman of Taylorsville, N.C. He is a graduate of Campbell University with degrees in both international business and Spanish. He is a financial advisor for Edward Jones.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maids of honor were Elisabeth Davis and Katherine Hicks, both of Fairhope.
Best man was J. David Bowman, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Seth Parnell and Will Price, both of Oak Ridge, N.C.
Flower girl was Hazel Hunter of Houston, Texas, cousin of the groom.
Music was provided by pianist Melody Heffline of Lexington and soloist Mitch Hunter of Concord, N.C.
The bride wore a strapless gown fashioned of soft-white silk, featuring an empire waist with an A-line skirt flowing to a chapel length train. The waistline was adorned with her grandmother’s pearl broach.
The bridal bouquet featured ivory and lavender roses, eggplant calla lilies and eggplant-throated cream calla lilies.
A reception was held at the Dunhill Hotel in Charlotte.
After a honeymoon to Asheville, N.C., the couple lives in Gastonia, N.C.
