Using photos from a convenience store surveillance camera, investigators are hoping to find a man who robbed a clerk earlier this month.

In a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office press release sent Tuesday, April 22, investigators released a series of photos from the robbery at Lloyd’s Store, 3849 Pageland Highway, which happened about 6:58 a.m. April 12.

The photos show a man in a striped shirt, who was holding several items including a small box, approach the checkout counter.

The clerk told deputies she was behind the register when the man walked into the store and demanded money.

“He said ‘give me the money’ several times,” said Sheriff’s Maj. Matt Shaw shortly after the robbery. “He was yelling at her and making aggressive gestures.”

Shaw said the man did not pull out a gun and the clerk wasn’t even sure if he had a weapon.

“Basically, she opened the register and he took money out of the cash register himself,” he said. “He then fled the store in a red SUV.”

The clerk was not injured during the robbery, Shaw said.

An outside security camera shot footage of the man driving away in what is believed to be a burgundy Chevrolet Equinox.

The man is described as black, between 25 and 35 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 170 pounds, the release said. He was wearing a black hat, black frame glasses, jeans and a black, white and yellow striped shirt.
