Coaches see good, areas to work on in scrimmages

By Robert Howey

Two county coaches had mixed reviews following opening scrimmages Friday afternoon, Aug. 7.
Indian Land High School veteran coach Mike Mayer said overall he was pleased with the Warriors’ effort in a scrimmage with C.A. Johnson High School of Columbia at IL’s Reservation.
Buford High School coach Tripp Watts said the Jackets’ effort was solid, but BHS needs to correct some key mistakes from a three-way home scrimmage with Class A foe McBee and Class AA opponent Lee Central High School of Bishopville on Friday night.
