The seniors took top honors in the fifth annual Buford High School powder puff football game held during the week of the annual BHS homecoming, Sept. 24-28.

The game is the major fundraiser for the Future Educators Association at Buford High School. Each team included 20 players.

The seniors defeated the freshmen to take the title.

The freshman downed the juniors and the seniors topped the sophomores to set up the title game, which was won by seniors.

Neil Couch guided the senior squad, while Garrett Hammond and Chris Timmons led the junior team.

Fuzzy Bass and Zack Newton guided the sophomore team and Pam and David Inman led the freshman team.

Game officials included Mike Wells, Tripp Wright, Seth Blackmon and Britt Wells.

The Buford FEA advisors are Beth Seegars and Pam Langley.

The organization’s main purpose is to support the teachers at Buford High School, Seegars noted.

Funds raised during the game will be used for the Buford FEA to attend the convention in Orlando in April.

“We thank the community for its support,” Seegars said. “We had a lot of fun and this was our best fundraiser.”

Event sponsors included Camp Creek Grocery, Barry Faile, Fay Engineering, Face Painting by Lisa, Buford Little General, Buford Screen Print, Lyles Motors and Langley Collision.
