The work of See Lancaster in the Main Street area is well known.
One of the major projects was the opening of the Native American Studies Center and the renovation of the Olde Presbyterian Church, now a cultural arts center.
“We congratulate this year’s nationally accredited Main Street programs for meeting our established performance standards,” said Valecia Crisafulli, acting director of the Main Street Center.
See Lancaster has also worked and formed partnerships that have led to upgrades and renovations to the gym and auditorium at the old Barr Street School. This work has allowed these existing facilities to gain a new life for continued use in the community.
See Lancaster was also saluted by the National Main Street Center for its work with the Lancaster County School District and local arts agencies to boost educational opportunities throughout the county.
“See Lancaster, as a department of the city of Lancaster, has established itself as an integral part of the community’s revitalization efforts,” a media release said.
See Lancaster is most deserving of its recent honor.
