Local school officials are breathing a lot easier now that the standoff over federal stimulus money for South Carolina has been settled.
Lancaster County School District will receive about $4.3 million of the $700 million that was aimed for the state’s school districts and law enforcement agencies. Gov. Mark Sanford, who tried to block the funding, signed the request for the money this week following a court order.
