School lockdown at Erwin Elementary ends quickly

Reports of gunshots near Erwin Elementary School on Wednesday morning, April 2, turned out to be a false alarm, according to school district officials. 

Lancaster County School District Safety and Transportation Director Bryan Vaughn said the incident happened at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, outside Erwin Elementary, 1477 Locustwood Ave.

The school, with a total of 448 students, is located in the Erwin Farm community near Gooches Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department.
