Ronnie Cairnes loved horses and his two granddaughters

Ronnie Cairnes' life ended Wednesday morning while buying feed for his horses.

He enjoyed horses a lot. He had seven of them.

"He loved horses and he liked young'uns to death," said his brother, David Cairnes.

Cairnes grew up on Hoke Road, not far from his business, Cedar Creek Bait and Tackle Shop.

He lived in Fort Lawn with his common law wife, Joyce Sumner, David Cairnes said.

Cairnes, who was 55, owned the tackle shop for about five years. Sumner helped manage the store.
