Residents donate nearly $10,000 to basket fund

With the generosity of individuals and local groups, the Ward Faulkenberry Memorial Christmas Basket Fund brought in nearly $10,000 during this year's drive.

This annual fund, which just finished its 48th running, takes donations to give local families assistance with food during the holiday season.

Recipients are given $25 food vouches that can be used at local grocery stores. As of Thursday afternoon, this year's grand total was $9,254.
