I was feelin’ a bit guilty about it. The war effort was picking up steam since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
We were all lendin’ a hand for the land.
I was forced to give up my J.C. Higgins Roadmaster Deluxe bicycle, I just couldn’t bear to part with some of the old roller skates I collected for the weekly scrap metal drive.
I guess you could say I had thrown out the rules, but the temptation was just too much.
It’s been said we covet what we see.
