Reecie Pate was a top-notch man

My Christmas spirit, as the old Yule song goes – “a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy,” took a stunning hit last Wednesday morning with the news of Reecie Pate’s death.

Reecie and my late mother, Bettie Howey, were classmates in the Lancaster High Class of 1945. I checked out his photo and bio in Mama’s Rambler, the LHS yearbook.

What was stated of Reecie defined his life. It said, “What is yours is mine, and all mine is yours.”
