The A.R. Rucker Rams capped the middle school basketball season charging to a sweep of the rival South Middle Mustangs on Wednesday in the Lancaster High School gym.

The Lady Rams completed an unbeaten season – 13-0 – with a 53-11 win in the girls game.

The Rams, who fell to South 35-33 in December, completed the hardwood broom job with a 38-29 win over the Mustangs.

The Rucker boys, who finished 9-4, used a fast finish to post the nine-point win.

“I was pleased with our performance,” Rucker coach Lamont Elder said. “We played better in the second half of the season and tonight reflected that.

“We also had tremendous fan support which always makes a difference,” Elder said.
