The Chesterfield Rams made a hard charge to capture the opening game in the Class A Upper State championship series at Buford Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams spotted the Jackets an early 1-0, but CHS, which belted four home runs, used its power surge to rally for an 11-1 win over the Jackets.
Buford, 10-9, snapped a scoreless draw in the second inning when BHS senior Gavin Flynn singled home Dillon Hydrick for a 1-0 lead.
