Racing to Success – BMS students read their way to Darlington Raceway

DARLINGTON – Logan Gordon and Jordan Smith shared a common bond with NASCAR driver Tony Stewart on Friday night.All three of them were winners.Stewart took the checkers during the running of the Nationwide Series race while Logan and Jordan got to see most of the race he won. They had to leave early to make it back to Lancaster by 10:30 p.m.The two numbered among a group of 50 Buford Middle School students who went to the storied race track on Friday after winning the 2007-08 Reader’s Challenge at the school.“The only bad part is the heat,” Jordan said.
