There is so much going on in Lancaster - children being hurt, a historic building burned and a tragic hit-and-run accident that killed an innocent man. I continue to pray for these situations and the families who are suffering. With all that is going on, we need to take the time to say some thank yous.

I want to thank senior reporter Jenny Hartley for writing the article about the transition housing program, the R.J. Osborne Compassion Project, that I am working on.

From this article, I received a personal letter from Gov. Mark Sanford encouraging me for my efforts. When I received this letter, I was not getting any support from the community, other than my church family and some of the steering committee members. Because of the lack of support, I had decided to no longer pursue this effort until I read the letter from the governor. Again, thank you Jenny. I thank the governor for his encouraging letter.

I also want to wish Family Promise, the organization that is helping homeless families in Lancaster, well. I hope we will be working together real soon. The Compassion Project will only house homeless individuals, not families.
