BUFORD – There were no campaign signs. Music wasn't playing in the background and rally supporters were no where to be found.
John Edwards, a South Carolina native and a former U.S. senator from North Carolina, didn't step to a podium and address hundreds of people inside a convention center or assembly hall. Rather, it was him and about a dozen local residents sitting at a kitchen table having an intimate discussion about the biggest issue facing them – the loss of textile jobs.
