Post 31 clinches series

American Lancaster Post 31 defeated Inman Post 45, 7-3, Sunday night at Eggleton Field to advance to the second round of the American Legion playoffs.
With Lancaster leading 1-0 going into the bottom of the third, pitcher Brien Clyburn helped himself by slugging a two-run home run to extend Lancaster’s lead to 3-0.
“Inman came in with all the momentum and we needed to get the lead early to set the tone,” said coach Quinton Rodgers.
Post 31 got runs in the fifth and sixth innings on Trey Payne and Tripp Wright RBI singles.
