A large contingent of Lancaster police officers responded to a reported armed robbery Tuesday, Jan. 29, though it turned out to instead be a case of gambling gone wrong.
Officers were dispatched to Quality Inn, 114 Commerce Blvd., about 2:30 p.m. after a 911 call that someone there had been robbed, according to a Lancaster Police Department incident report.
By 3 p.m. at least six marked police vehicles were seen parked outside the S.C. 9 Bypass hotel, each with blue lights flashing.
