Police are looking for more information in the possible carjacking of a man outside a Lancaster gas station early Tuesday morning, March 25.

Officers were called to the lobby of the police department at about 5 a.m. Tuesday after a man arrived to report a carjacking, according to a Lancaster Police Department incident report.

The 35-year-old man told officers the incident happened at about 2 a.m. as he was fueling up his car at the Crenco station, at 700 S. Main St.

The victim said he pulled up to the far pump on the right side of the station, parked his car and opened the door.

“(The victim) advised that two black males with dark pistols came up to him and forced him back in the vehicle,” an officer wrote in the report.

Both men then got into the back seat and held the victim at gunpoint, forcing him to drive away from the gas station, the report said. The men also took all of the victim’s cash, about $65, and his cellphone.

The man was then forced to drive south down S.C. 200, onto Airport Road and then onto Memorial Park Road where he was forced to pull over.

“They made him exit the vehicle with the keys still in it. (The victim) advised that they took off in the vehicle,” an officer wrote.

Once the men drove away, the victim walked to the Forks gas station where he called his family, told them what happened and asked them to call 911.

The victim described one man as having dreadlocks and wearing dark clothes, while the other man was shorter than the first with short hair and wearing a dark hat, the report said. Neither man had their face covered, the victim told officers.

The case has been turned over to detectives who planned to interview the victim again and search for suspects.

Lancaster Police Capt. Scott Grant said the case was still active on Thursday, though no one has been charged or arrested in the case.

“We are still investigating this incident. The details are somewhat sporadic at this point,” Grant said.
