The Palmetto United Futbol Club GU12 Fury continued its success in impressive fashion.

The Fury won  its third straight soccer tournament to bring home the title in the top division of the Capital Area Soccer League Girls Shootout in Raleigh, N.C., on Nov. 5-6.

The PUFC Fury, based out of Fort Mill, has team members from the surronding area of Indian Land, Lake Wyllie, Fort Mill, Tega Cay and Clover.

The Fury is coached by Jair Isaac and Ryan Nelson and is trained by Lou Pantousco.

The Fury squared off against some of the best competition in the nation and went undefeated on the way to the championship.

The Fury started the tournament with a hard-fought scoreless tie against the 110th-ranked Freestate Freedom Red from Maryland.

The Fury then went on to win 2-0 against the 136th-ranked NVSC JR Majestics from Virginia, and 3-2 against the 100th- ranked SSA 99 Black Storm from Savannah.

The two wins and one tie in pool play earned the Fury a trip to the final against the 83rd-ranked WWSC Angel Wolves from Maryland.

The Fury went up early in the match, but WWSC answered about midway through the first half to deadlock the match.

The Fury went up 2-1 late in the first half when it scored on a corner.

The Fury played strong defense and was able to keep the match scoreless in the second half and bring home the championship with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

The Fury and many other PUFC teams were back in action this weekend at the Charlotte Under Armour Cup.

The PUFC Fury has plans to move from 8v8 to 11v11 in the spring, and is looking for a few strong players from the area to join the team.

PUFC also has opportunities in many other U9-U12 teams.
