Lancaster American Legion Post 31 baseball will host its opening day Friday with its traditional juniors vs. seniors game.
The game will be held at Eggleton Field starting at 7 p.m.
The senior team’s coaching staff for this year is head coach Steve Sinclair and assistant Keith Lewis.
The senior team has many returning talented players who will provide the experience and maturity to carry them through their season.
The junior team’s coaching staff consists of head coach Brant Barnes, assistant coach Quinton Rodgers and pitching coach Palmer Hudson.
The Post 31 junior team brings a lot of talented players as well into the season that should also provide a lot of enthusiasm and excitement to the game.
“Both teams have the players and coaching staff that will allow them to make a legitimate run at the state championship,” said P-31 athletic officer Jeff Cato. “So please, come out and support your American Legion Post 31 baseball teams this Friday as well as the remaining season.”
Both teams open league play on Monday, with the senior team playing Fort Mill at home and the junior team traveling to Chester. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
