Sheriff’s investigators were looking into a shooting Thursday afternoon on North Corner Road.

Sheriff Barry Faile said Carlos McCune, 39, of 3928 N. Corner Road, was shot with a shotgun in the stomach and leg about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Faile said the incident was preceded by a fight in Union County, N.C., between McCune and his brother, Todd.

The shooting happened after McCune headed home. He was shot at a neighboring home.

Faile said he did not know why McCune was shot at 3946 N. Corner Road, and it wasn’t known  Thursday afternoon if the shooting happened inside or outside.

Faile said the shooter has not been determined.

Lancaster County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.

McCune was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with non-life threatening injuries, Faile said.

McCune’s brother was at a hospital in Union County being treated for a gash to his head, Faile said.

Investigators were headed to Carolinas Medical Center and the Union County hospital to talk to both brothers Thursday afternoon.

Other investigators collected evidence at the home where the shooting took place.

No arrests had been made Thursday afternoon.
