Organizers of North Elementary School’s upcoming Spring Fling festival promise an enjoyable time for the entire family.
The 11th annual event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the school grounds, will feature more than 10 inflatable rides for children.
Participants will be able to play the Dance Dance Revolution interactive video game, go on hay rides and experience a bungee trampoline. Children can also enjoy a shark slide, laser tag and an obstacle course.
Several local acts are expected to perform, said Bridgett Plexico, North Elementary’s parent coordinator and one of the Spring Fling organizers.
There will be demonstrations by Universal Karate Studio and performances by area youth musicians, cheerleaders and step teams.
Food will be available during the day, including hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones and popcorn.
An all-inclusive wrist band for $16 allows you unlimited access to the rides and a hot dog lunch. Tickets for individual rides will be sold, too.
Plexico bills Spring Fling as an awesome day of fun.
“We’re hoping that it’s going to be just as wonderful as it’s been in the past,” she said. “The community has always supported this day.”
Proceeds from Spring Fling will go toward North Elementary’s Parent-Teacher Association, which is looking to buy new outdoor fitness equipment, said event co-chairwoman Amanda Steele.
To help raise money, event organizers will be drawing names for a chance to win the following prizes: a Nintendo Wii system along with the Rock Band music video game; a 10-carat diamond palmetto tree pendant; a Springmaid Beach weekend for two; a Clemson Tigers printed frame; and a University of South Carolina Gamecocks printed frame.
Tickets for the drawing are $5 and you can buy as many as you like.
