I am writing in response to David Whiting’s letter, “It’s time to take back the South,” published in the Jan. 8 edition of The Lancaster News. There isn’t anything wrong with driving children to school. This is part of our freedom. We have a choice.
Your opinions are yours. The South has never been taken away from Southerners. It’s here where it always was – it never moved.
However, our sense of thinking needed to be changed because we are all God’s people, whether we live in the North, South, East or West. This is 2014. We need to get back to praying for each other. Jesus said we are to love one another and to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Nitpicking will not change anything in anyone. It will only keep us divided in thought and deed. If we were to stop talking all the time and start listening, we could learn more about other people and life itself.
