Newspaper Web site undergoes upgrade

-A A +A
By The Staff

The Lancaster News Web site, www.thelancasternews.com , has undergone an extreme cosmetic makeover.

However, the operative word seems to be extreme.

Our parent company, Landmark Community Newspapers, Inc., (LCNI), recently decided to standardize the interactive media outlets for each of its community newspapers.

This standardization is the first phase in a process that will provide cutting-edge technology and, hopefully, better serve our readers with the pertinent news that affects their daily lives.

The Lancaster News would like our readers to know that the features enjoyed on our old Web site have not disappeared forever.

As you read this, the LCNI web design staff is working on a program which allows our readers to view the archives from our old site, as well as view archives from our new site.

Many of our convenient online forms will also return to our Web site by the first of the year. Dot Photo, where published photographs can be purchased, should be returning in the next month. The "Letters to the Editor" link will return by the first of next week.

There are many new and improved features on our Web site that are worth mentioning.

An up-to-the-minute stock ticker has been added, along with video feeds. Our goal is to add local video content by Jan.1.

An online poll has been added in order to interact with readers.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to send comments to the webmaster at webmaster@thelancasternews.com

We look forward to receiving feedback from our most valued resource - you.
