City Council meets Tuesday
Lancaster City Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at City Hall, 216 S. Catawba St. Agenda items include citizen comments and employee comments, along with a presentation and discussion of the 2013-14 recommended budget. For details, call (803) 286-8414.
County Finance Committee to meet May 1
The Lancaster County Council Finance Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in council chambers at the Lancaster County Administration Building, 101 N. Main St., Lancaster.
The agenda includes a fee-in-lieu funding structure presentation and a continuing overview of the proposed 2013-14 expense budget and revenues.
Mulvaney to hold town hall meeting
U.S. District 5 Rep. Mick Mulvaney will hold a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the Village Hall in Baxter Village, Fort Mill. Mulvaney will give a short presentation on recent events in Washington, D.C. , followed by a question-and-answer period. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
County planning commission to meet Thursday

Sims Foundation sponsoring governance series
The J. Marion Sims Foundation is sponsoring a free learning series for board members of nonprofit organizations.
