In response to Vicki Campbell’s letter, “Religious beliefs have no place in political views,” in the Sept. 19 edition of The Lancaster News, I will let the word (Bible) speak for me.
Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139:13 – “For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Job 31:15 – “Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?”
Isaiah 44:2 – “This is what the Lord says – he who made you, who formed you in the womb.”
Luke 1:44, 44 – “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit... As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.”
Did mere tissue leap for joy? If morals don’t dictate who we vote for, then what should? Money? The word also says something about that.
Matthew 6:24 – “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other – you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” As a Christian, nothing other than morals matters to me.
