Miss South Carolina pays visit to students

The students were mesmerized by Crystal Garrett's beauty, but it was her words that will probably have the greatest impact.

Garrett, the reigning Miss South Carolina, told students at Clinton Elementary School on Wednesday how people didn't think she would have a chance to make it this far.

A Columbia native, Garrett was diagnosed with allergy-induced asthma when she was 3. Doctors didn't expect her to live to see 21.
