The family of the man charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash last week says Lancaster Police Department officers are partially to blame.
Lancaster police officers initiated a chase on Hampton Road in Lancaster's Southside community, said Najla Parker, the aunt of suspect Marqevius Hood.
Hood, 26, of 408 Fairfield St., is charged by the S.C. Highway Patrol with leaving the scene of an accident involving death in the crash that killed motorcyclist John Haver, 68, on Aug. 20.
