A pedestrian was treated and released from a Charlotte hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Grace Avenue on Wednesday evening.

Lancaster resident Francis Faile Sr., 83, was driving north on Grace Avenue in a 2005 Toyota pickup and struck Timothy Doster as Doster crossed in front of the vehicle's path, said Lance Cpl. Jeff Gaskin of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. near the Memorial Park Road intersection.

Doster, 42, of 1704 Parkman Ave., landed in the parking lot of The Forks gas station, Gaskin said.

He was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A hospital spokeswoman said he was released Thursday.

The Highway Patrol estimates that Faile, of 1509 Pink Dogwood Ave., was traveling 30 mph in a 35-mph zone.

The Highway Patrol believes Doster was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, Gaskin said.

No charges will be filed in the case.
