A Lancaster man has been arrested and charged with arson in the Nov. 6 fire that destroyed the Pitmon Place strip mall on Lynwood Drive.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has charged Victor Carlisle McDonald, 46, of 1448 Springdale Church Road, with arson. He was arrested Nov. 26 and is being held at the Lancaster County Detention Center.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Tom Holland said McDonald’s bond has been denied.

Holland said the sheriff’s office isn’t releasing any more details about McDonald’s arrest now because that information could compromise the ongoing probe.

Holland said the sheriff’s office determined the day of the fire that it was arson.

“There’s other people involved we’re trying to arrest,” Holland said. “Giving that out (other details) would jeopardize the investigation.”

The strip mall housed a swap shop, Absolute Tanning, Flowers & Balloons, Sigmon Auto Glass and T-Elegance Barber & Hair Styling Salon.
