A Rock Hill man is behind bars in connection with the brazen, daylight armed robbery of a man in a busy Walmart parking lot on July 8, as detectives continue using surveillance videos and eyewitness accounts to track two others in the incident.
Malcolm Shaquille Williams, 18, was arrested Tuesday evening, July 9, on the charges of armed robbery and possession of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime, according to a press release from Lancaster Police Capt. Scott Grant.
Williams turned himself in to police after learning that he was wanted in connection with the robbery of a Charlotte man in the Walmart parking lot, the release said.
The victim called 911 on Monday morning after he was robbed at gunpoint of cash, his wallet and two GPS units, as he responded to a bogus Craigslist advertisement for a car, the release said.
Grant revealed Tuesday afternoon that detectives had a man in custody and on Wednesday they announced the arrest.
