In his most recent column, Mr. J.R. Wilt objects to the county road maintenance fee being increased by $5, from $25 to $30. I strongly disagree. Lancaster County residents have complained about the poor condition of our roads for years. While this increase will not improve the condition of our state-maintained roads, it will improve the condition of our county-maintained roads.
I support the proposed road maintenance fee increase, and I encourage all residents of Lancaster County to do the same. For the record, my home is located on a state-maintained road.
