A Lancaster Halloween tradition will kick off this weekend.
The Lancaster County Rescue Squad's 24th annual Haunted Forest opens tonight for those who love the thrills and chills of Halloween behind its building at Great Falls Highway and 10th Street Extension.
The forest will also be open Saturday, as well as Oct. 17-18, Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
Hours are from dark "until people quit coming," said squad member Mary Rouse.
The forest is the squad's largest fundraiser each year. Squad members, their family and friends build fright stations and pose as the monsters, ghouls and other scary beings of Halloween.
There is a new top-secret addition this year.
"You'll have to come out and see what's new this year," Rouse said. "There's a lot of new and exciting things this year. They have all kinds of boogers down there to scare you."
Admission cost is $7. For details, call the rescue squad at 285-4234.
