Local woman wins $250K

An Indian Land woman won big in the S.C. Education Lottery three weeks ago.

According to a lottery press release, the unidentified woman won $250,000 by matching the first five numbers of the Aug. 17 Mega Millions drawing – (8-20-24-35 56). Her chances of winning were 1 in 3,904,701.

The woman said she was parked in front of a convenience store when she realized she’d won and that her legs nearly failed her when she stepped out her car.
