Daniel of Clemson ignited in the final stages of the game to take a 68-51 win over Buford in the Farm Bureau Classic at Chesterfield on Thursday afternoon.
The Lions held a three-point lead with four minutes to play, but used a press to pull away in the final period for the 17-point win in first-round play.
Daniel led 47-40 with a period to play, but outscored Buford 21-11, with most of the damage done in the late stages.
Deandre Hopkins hit 21 to lead DHS. Andrew Moore, Pat Tillman and Freddie Williams added 10 points each.
