Letter: Thanks to all who helped with city’s Easter event

-A A +A

On behalf of the city of Lancaster, I would like to send a shout out to everyone that made Lancaster’s first Easter event a success. These individuals brought their talents and energy creating an atmosphere of family and fun in the effort to welcome spring.
Thank you to the Lancaster High School Civinettes, who designed the Easter egg coloring sheet and worked the event. Their adviser, Stacey Kirkley, who is also a teacher at Lancaster High, brought in 15 girls to organize the Easter egg hunt, and put up coloring sheets in the downtown merchant’s windows.
Thank you to all of the children in Lancaster County that participated in the Easter coloring contest. The pictures not only beautiful to look at, but also brightened our beautiful historic downtown.
Thank you to golden egg sponsors: the city of Lancaster, Chick-fil-A, Avant Garde Center for the Arts, Bowers Used Parts Inc., The Hot Box, Bob Doster’s Backstreet Studio, Mane Street Hair Design, Chastain’s Studio Lofts, Xquizite Angels MC, Mr. Easy Lawn Care and the Lancaster County Council of the Arts for creating wonderful Easter baskets for the golden egg winners.
Thank you to Donna Green, Sandy Cauthen and Kathy Hall who were our judges for the basket and hat contest. They had a tough time in choosing the winners. They were all so wonderful.
Many thanks to Jimola Wade and Adam Langley, our emcees, for creating fun before, during and after each egg hunt; Joan Bowers, Darrick Riggins, Denise Scott, Blondean Funderburk, Connie Riggins, Eric Rowell, Grace Hilton, Teresa Meeks, Ronnie Cairnes, Vickie Snipes, Maggie Bowers, Reagan and Jordan Wade, Glyn, Gigi and Cara Hasty, Varisara Meesuae (Rung) and Kristin Wemes for ensuring that each egg was filled, each plant was potted, every child received a treat bag and all ducks were in a row.
Special thanks to Peter Rabbit and Rosie. Thank you for taking time out of your holiday weekend to make this great event valuable to the children of Lancaster.
