LCPRC all-star basketball teams to tip off district play

Games set at Springdale, Buford rec centers

Lancaster County Parks and Recreation will have seven all-star teams participating in Central District playoff this weekend.

The 10-and under boys and girls travel to Fort Mill to play on Saturday. Lancaster I boys play at 9 a.m. against Ruth C. Simons and Lancaster II boys play at 10:30 a.m. against the City of Columbia.

The first-round games will be played at Fort Mill High School.

Second-round games are at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Mill High.

The championship is set for 4:30 p.m. at Nations Ford High School. The field consists of nine teams.

The 10-and under girls play at noon against North Springs Park out of Richland County. The game will be played at Nations Ford High School. Four teams are in the girls tournament.

The 12-under boys and girls team play host to the Central District tournament.

Games will be played at the Springdale Recreation Center and the Buford Recreation Center. The girls open play tonight against Caughman Road Park out of Richland County. Game time is 6:30 p.m. at Buford Recreation Center on Hurley Walters Road in the Buford community.

The boys play tonight at 6:30 p.m. against Caughman Road at the Springdale Recreation Center. Second Round games will be played Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at both sites.

The girls championship is set for 2:30 p.m. at Buford and the boys championship is set for 5:30 p.m. at Springdale.

The event has 10 entries in the boys tournament and five entries are in the girls tournament.

The 14-under boys travel to North Augusta and play Richland County at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

If Lancaster wins, the local stars advance to the championship game at 3 p.m. All games will be played at the North Augusta Activities Center. The field features six entries.

The 17-under boys will be traveling to Richland County and will play the host team on Saturday at 10 a.m. The winner advances to the championship at 1 p.m. All games will be played at Caughman Road Park.

The winners of all the Central District tournaments will advance to the state championship tournaments March 6-7. Admission to the district tournament at all sites is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
