Langley claims first young guns checkers

Josh Langley captured his first win in the young guns main event to highlight an action-packed night at Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday night.As soon as the green flag fell, it was Langley jumping to the lead with “Little Looney,” Andrew Blackwood, in second.Langley was determined to take home his first win and did not let any driver get in his way. Langley led lap after lap and took home his first win. Langley’s friends and family were elated for him and he received the traditional roll in the mud for his first win.Langley was followed by Blackwood, Austin Baker and Andrew Yandle.u In the super street main event, an early caution came out when Brandy Baker, Frankie McGuire and Jeff Langley were racing hard for the lead, which caused McGuire to scrape the wall, but he was soon back in second. After a few laps, McGuire came in to retire for the night.Baker dominated from that point and he had one challenge from Jeff Langley. Baker had the car to beat and took the win. Baker was followed by Whistle Burrows, Daniel Whiteside, Kevin Blackwell and Rocky Price.u In the super stock four race, Chase Wilson took the lead early with Jeffery McGuirt a close second. After a few laps, McGuirt passed Wilson for the lead. Evan Thomas came in early because of a left front tire going flat, but came back out to rejoin the field.From that point on, McGuirt led every lap and took the win. McGuirt was followed by Wes Helms, Chase Wilson, Ray Adams and Dustin Sweatt.u The late model main event saw Andy Blackwood jump to the early lead in the race, but a yellow flag was brought out when Blackwood went in turn one and suddenly something happen from the rear of his car, which caused him to make contact with the wall to end his night early.His crew will have the car fixed and ready for Saturday night. Ron Parker held the lead at that point, but the battle for the lead was not over yet as the battle was on between Parker and Mike Huey. Huey gave Parker all he had, but Parker held on and took the win.Huey, David Yandle, Chris Hargett and Steve Davis rounded out the top five.u The pure street drivers were next on the track, with Kevin Blackwell leading early on and Jason Starnes second.A brief yellow flag came out while Starnes was racing Blackwell for the lead and Starnes spun out, causing him to pit and he later came back out in sixth.As the race resumed, it was Blackwell still leading, with Jerry Sexton in second. After several other cautions, it was a green/white/checker. Blackwell held the lead and took the win. He was followed by Sexton, Jason Starnes, Michael Outlaw and Frankie McGuire.u In the fastrack crate main, Brandy Baker dominated all race long with Benji Knight in second.Baker led lap after lap with the strongest car on the track.Baker pulled away from the field at the midpoint and cruised to victory. He was followed by Knight, Andy Hodges, Steve Davis and Blackwood.u In the final race of the night, Kenny Ramsey dominted the sportsman crate main.Ramsey had no challengers for the lead, but Travis Payne made his way through the field to finish second. Ramsey was followed by Payne, Chris Bell, Junior Stacks and Ben Helms.
