Lancers drop two losses to Dolphins

The University of South Carolina at Lancaster posted one win in three weekend games with Brunswick Community College at the LHS baseball field.

The Lancers, 5-4, captured the opener Saturday night before dropping a twin bill to the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon.

In the win over Brunswick CC, the Lancers took a 6-4 win.

Dylan Parker, in 5.2 innings, was the winner to push his record to 2-0. Parker fanned six and allowed four runs, one earned run, and a walk.

Casey Seay worked 3.1 innings for the save, allowing no runs, no hits and a walk. He fanned three.

Richie Poston paced the USCL offense with two hits and drove in a run. Cody Clack delivered two hits. Matt Tanner and Trey Deason each had a two-run double. Tripp Faulk had a hit and drove in a run. Corey Frye added a hit.

In the opener Sunday, Trevor Hammond took a tough-luck loss in a 2-1 setback. Hammond, in a route job, yielded two runs, four hits, two earned runs and no walks. He struck out two.

Trey Deason and Cody Clack each had a hit to led the Lancers. Tripp Faulk had the lone USCL run batted in.

Brunswick rolled in the nightcap, taking a 13-3 win over the Lancers.

Kyle Pressley, in two innings, took the loss, allowing five runs, two hits, two walks and three earned runs. He fanned one.

Jacob Hill, in two innings, allowed no runs, a hit and a walk. He had three strikeouts. Cameron Baker worked an inning, allowing a run, two hits, walk and an earned run. Baker whiffed two.

John McInnis hurled two-thirds of an inning, giving up four runs, three hits, a walk and two earned runs. He fanned one. Alex Davidson pitched a third of an inning and surrendered a walk and fanned one.

Tripp Faulk led the offense with two hits and drove in a run. Richie Poston rapped a double, single and drove in a run.

Casey Seay, Cody Black and Trey Deason each had a hit. Corey Frye added a RBI.

USCL hosts a twin bill on Thursday at 1 p.m.
